Backgrounds and home layouts
As of yet, you need to do this from a PC. If I work out a simple way of making them downloadable straight to your Smartphone then I'll do it :)Right-click and select "Save Target As" to download any of the xml files
To install these (or any of the backgrounds,) run ActiveSync, explore to \IPSM\Application Data\Home\ and copy over the files, then open the "Home Screen" page in Settings, and select the new layout and/or background.
RM Leftside 2
A simple update to my original Leftside theme, that has slightly smaller fonts and eliminates the line under the most recent apps icons.

Full Date
This is a quick mod to the standard "Full Layout" to include the date alongside the time (made for my brother)
RM_full_date.home.xml - the Full Date home layout file
RM Leftside
- 18/02/03
"Leftside" is a layout "theme" I designed after I got tired of trying to find an existing layout that would allow me to actually use and see my own background image (rather than have it obscured with lots of icons and text, or themes that are far too gadgety for my liking.)The theme is fairly straightforward - all the main information is presented on the Left side of the screen, leaving plenty of space on screen to still be able to see your background picture. It includes a small "most recent apps" section along the top, followed by a large clock, the current profile, and message counts. It also displays the missed calls count when appropriate
RM_Leftside.home.xml - the Leftside home layout file
RM_Orange.scheme.xml - the colourscheme I use, which is based on the colourscheme of this site (as seen in the screenshot above) - optional
Making a background suited for Leftside
There is nothing special about the backgrounds for Leftside, and you can easily create your own. Basically the rules to follow is to make the final image 176x180 pixels in size, to keep the top 20 pixels of the picture clear for the Iconbar at the top, and keep most of the detail of your image in the right hand two thirds of the image (leaving the left hand third as uncluttered as possible to make the text easily readable)Backgrounds for Leftside
